Frequently asked questions

PNG or JPG: which should I pick?

PNG is lossless and best for screenshots, diagrams, or images with sharp edges and text. JPG is smaller but has visible compression artifacts on text. Use PNG when sharpness matters.

Why is the output much bigger than the PDF?

PNG is lossless. A PDF compresses content (especially text) very efficiently. Converting to PNG inflates that by storing every pixel.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. We use Mozilla's PDF.js library running entirely in your browser.

Can I get transparent backgrounds?

Yes — enable the 'Transparent background' option. The white fill behind pages is skipped, leaving the page transparent where the source PDF was.
