Overview
What this converter does
Convert between 160+ world currencies using live exchange rates, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, INR, PKR, AED, and many more. Enter an amount, pick the currencies, and see the result plus the unit rate in both directions. The rates are fetched from a public exchange-rate service; the conversion itself runs in your browser.
The basics
Understanding exchange rates
An exchange rate is how much one currency is worth in another. If 1 USD = 0.92 EUR, then 100 dollars converts to 92 euros. The rate shown here is the mid-market rate — the midpoint between what buyers and sellers offer on the global market, before anyone adds a margin.
The mid-market rate is the 'real' rate

Why your bank gives a different rate
The difference between the mid-market rate and the rate you actually receive is the spread, and it's how exchange services make money. Common examples:
- Airport currency kiosks: often 5-12% worse than mid-market — the worst place to exchange
- Bank wire transfers: typically 1-3% margin plus a fixed fee
- Credit/debit cards abroad: usually 1-3%, sometimes plus a foreign transaction fee
- Specialist services (Wise, Revolut): closest to mid-market, often under 1%
For large transfers, even a 1% difference is significant — on a $10,000 transfer, that's $100. Always compare the offered rate to the mid-market rate before committing.

Common questions
How often do the rates update?
The underlying data refreshes daily on business days. Currency markets move continuously, so for large or time-sensitive transactions, confirm the live rate with your bank or a trading platform.
Why is the converter showing a slightly different rate than Google?
Different sources pull rates at different moments and from different providers, so small differences are normal. All reputable sources track the same mid-market rate closely; the gaps are usually well under 1%.
Can I convert cryptocurrencies?
This tool covers fiat (government) currencies. Crypto prices are far more volatile and trade on separate exchanges, so they need a dedicated crypto converter.
What's the best way to exchange money?
For travel, a no-foreign-fee card usually beats cash kiosks. For transfers, specialist services like Wise or Revolut typically offer near mid-market rates. Always avoid airport exchange counters, which have the widest spreads.
Does the converter include fees?
No. It shows the mid-market rate only. Add your provider's margin and any fixed fees to estimate what you'll actually receive.
